Subject: Another dull day on the ranch----

got home from church at 12:30, L4A(a twin herself)
presented us with a heifer calf, didn't stop there,
out comes a bull. Twin calves from a twin cow! Barb
and I got the cow up about 4pm to make sure the calves
would nurse, finished at 7pm. We milked the cow and
"tubed" the calves to make sure they got their
colostrum. Hopefully tomorrow the calves will nurse
on their own- weather cooperated, about 50+ when we
got home. The bull will be fertile and the heifer
may be sterile. If both calves were the same sex,
both would be fertile. We will just let the heifer
grow up and see what happens- hope she like the boys!
Another lesson in ranching from the old man and
young woman in Pulaski County.
