Subject: Twin heifers will be fertile, twin bulls will be fertile, then things go awry-

a twin bull will be fertile, and there is a strong
possiblity the heifer will be sterile. My vet said
to tell if the heifer is sterile(freemartin) you
can take a blood sample and tell if she has estrogen.
Mother nature does some strange things and this is
one of them. Today the bull twin is dominant, taking
all the milk, and my little twin heifer is not doing
well. We had to "tube" her again tonight since she is
not nursing. Hopefully tomorrow she will be
aggressive and start nursing. The bull weighed 72#
and the heifer 65#. That's a lot of beef from one
cow.
